Having a bachelor's degree in fine arts in 2002 from the University of the Philippines Cebu, Josephus Bartin had his first one man exhibit the same year dubbed as "Primero". Daringly, he initiated the U.P. Cebu oblation run in 1999, and true enough, his paintings show a lot of daring subject matters and strokes, from themes to colors.
His versatility in the field of arts proved to be worthwhile with him shifting to prose and poetry under the pen name "Mindspen". Since then, his artworks carry the pseudonym.
